adhd assessment package

An ADHD assessment with a suitably trained and experienced psychologist provides clarity around diagnosis.  Our assessment package will determine diagnosis based on DSM 5tr criteria. We base our ADHD assessments on recommendations from the Australasian ADHD Professionals Association (aadpa) Australian Evidence-Based Clinical Guideline For ADHD

  • Cognitive assessment using the WPPSI IV, WISC V or WAIS IV – 3 hours

    Cognitive assessments help to determine an individual’s learning capabilities by identifying cognitive strengths and weaknesses with the development of individualised support and learning plans.  They are used to assist in the identification of various neurodevelopmental and learning differences such as intellectual delays, giftedness, specific learning disorders, autism and ADHD.

    The cognitive assessment used is the WPPSI IV for children aged 2 years 6 months to 7 years 7 months and the WISC V for children aged 6 years 0 months to 16 years 11 months or the WAIS IV for adolescents and adults aged 16 years to 90 years, 11 months.  

  • Observations - 1 hour

    Observations provide information about how the child behaves and interacts in the clinical setting.

    Screening Questionnaires

    Conners 4th Edition (Conners 4™) provides a comprehensive assessment of symptoms and impairments associated with ADHD and common co-occurring problems and disorders in children and youth aged 6 to 18 years.

    The Conners Adult ADHD Rating Scales 2nd Edition (CAARS™ 2) is a measure that provides improved accuracy, greater insight, and enhanced utility for assessing and managing Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in adults.

  • ADHD Focused Interview using the Young DIVA 5 or DIVA 5 – 1 hour

    The Young DIVA-5 is a structured clinical interview for ADHD in young people aged 5-17 years.

    DIVA 5 is a diagnostic interview for ADHD in adults. It is widely used in the clinical diagnosis of ADHD in adults, having been translated into many languages.

Total Time: 11 hours includes assessment sessions, screening questionnaires, review of all relevant information, report writing time and feedback.

Cost: $2650 ($1950 for adult assessment or assessment where a cognitive assessment has already been completed).

A feedback session follows assessment and the assessment report is provided. The assessment report can be provided to relevant professionals by the family.
