All clinicians at think.grow.connect are trained and highly experienced in providing therapy to children, families and individuals.

****Please note: therapists, counsellors and provisional psychologists are not eligible for a Medicare provider number, meaning Medicare/Private Health rebates do not apply. 

What is a psychologist?

A psychologist is a professional trained in the science of how people think, feel, behave and learn. Registered psychologists are required to have a minimum of six years of university training and supervised experience, and to engage in ongoing education to keep their skills and knowledge up to date. 

What is a provisional psychologist?

A provisional psychologist is someone who has completed their tertiary qualifications and is undertaking a program of supervision as they develop applied skills “on the job”. Typically, this can involve one to two years of weekly supervision with a senior psychologist.

What is a mental health social worker?

Accredited mental health social workers are specialist practitioners with knowledge and skill in assessing and ameliorating mental health and associated psychosocial problems experienced by individuals, couples or families.

What is a counsellor?

A counsellor is a trained professional that can help solve your personal problems. Professional counsellors and psychotherapists help individuals explore and resolve issues that are interpersonal, intrapsychic or personal in nature.
